In 2017 the practice introduced a “telephone first system” which we have developed so that the practice can now provide total triage consultations. Patients who wish to arrange a same day consultation are asked to contact the practice via the telephone.
The enquiry will be taken by a member of the medical reception team who will ensure you are signposted to the appropriate team and professional.
These appointments could be with a Doctor, Practice Nurse, Physician Associate, Pharmacist or other external service providers. The clinician will assess your symptoms/concerns and will agree the next steps with you. This may include the offer of an appointment with a GP or other healthcare professional.
Appointments with a member of our Nursing Team for:
- Blood tests
- Cervical screening
- Family Planning and Sexual health
- Vaccinations (excluding travel)
- Blood pressure checks
Can be booked in advance by telephoning our medical reception team or via or practice website using the “request your routine appointments” form.
The practice continues to develop its communication access and currently the practice is using text messages to send appointment invitations along with reminders and messages confirming medication is ready for collection. It is important that patients keep their patient records up to date with contact numbers as this will assist us with service developments.
